Dubai Police Achieve Remarkable Rescue Milestone in Early 2026

In an impressive showcase of operational readiness, Dubai Police’s search and rescue teams executed 1,844 missions in the first quarter of 2026. This achievement underscores the department’s commitment to rapid and efficient emergency response throughout the emirate.

Comprehensive Strategy for Public Safety

The missions, orchestrated by the General Department of Transport and Rescue, are a testament to the proactive measures taken to enhance public safety. The department’s approach integrates strategic planning, cutting-edge technology, and skilled personnel to ensure prompt action in emergencies.

Major General Rashid Khalifa bin Darwish Al Falasi, head of the General Department of Transport and Rescue, emphasized that these accomplishments reflect the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. The department’s initiatives align with the broader vision of positioning Dubai as a leading safe city globally.

Enhancing Operational Capabilities

In line with international best practices, the department continues to strengthen its capabilities through investment in human resources and technology. This ensures that the teams are well-prepared to offer proactive and effective services, meeting community expectations and needs.

Major General Al Falasi highlighted the department’s focus on reducing response times and safeguarding lives and assets, reinforcing the teams’ ability to rapidly address diverse incidents.

Breakdown of Missions

Colonel Khalid Ibrahim, Director of the Search and Rescue Department, detailed the extensive scope of operations undertaken. Among the 1,844 missions, there were 96 direct incident responses, 105 logistical transport tasks, and eight rescues involving vehicles stranded in the sand.

Additionally, the teams managed 675 vehicle removals from roadways, addressed 288 door-opening scenarios involving vehicles and buildings, and provided security for 237 events. This comprehensive range of activities highlights the versatility and preparedness of the teams.

Training and Preparedness

To maintain high standards of readiness, Dubai Police invests heavily in training its personnel. This includes conducting realistic scenarios that simulate various emergencies such as entrapments, traffic accidents, and fires. These training exercises are crucial for testing team performance and ensuring equipment readiness.

Colonel Ibrahim noted that six training scenarios were conducted in the first quarter as part of a strategic initiative to enhance decision-making capabilities during critical incidents.
