Dubai Unveils Strategic Media Narrative Initiative
In a strategic move to bolster its media influence, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, has announced the establishment of the Dubai Media Narrative Committee. This new body, formalized by Council Decision No. (16) of 2026, aims to craft a cohesive and powerful media narrative for the emirate.
Leadership and Vision
The committee will be chaired by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, who also serves as the Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council. Under her leadership, the committee will delineate the strategic priorities and core pillars of the media narrative, focusing on both public and private sector entities within Dubai.
Sheikh Ahmed emphasized the importance of a unified media narrative as a fundamental component of Dubai’s developmental journey. He noted that the initiative aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to position Dubai as a leading global city with a robust media sector capable of delivering compelling messages worldwide.
Strategic Objectives
The committee’s mandate is to ensure that Dubai’s key messages are consistent, coherent, and effective, thereby enhancing the emirate’s global standing. Sheikh Ahmed stated that a strong media narrative is crucial for reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as an innovative city poised to create abundant opportunities for future generations.

Committee Composition and Responsibilities
The newly formed committee comprises influential figures from various sectors. Key members include Nehal Badri, Secretary General of the Dubai Media Council, and Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers. Other members are Younus Al Nasser, CEO of the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, and Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, among others.
The committee is tasked with developing policies and plans for Dubai’s media narrative, coordinating messaging across entities, and crafting strategies for media engagement on international platforms. It will also introduce key performance indicators to monitor the media narrative’s impact and effectiveness.
