The first train is scheduled to depart from Fujairah station at 5:34 AM on June 30, 2026, heading towards Mohammed Bin Zayed City station in Abu Dhabi. This trial is a precursor to a broader rollout of passenger services across the country.
High-Speed Connectivity Across Emirates
The journey from Fujairah to Abu Dhabi is expected to span approximately one hour and 45 minutes, with trains capable of reaching speeds up to 200 km/h. Once fully operational, the network will be able to accommodate up to 400 passengers per train, offering a high-capacity solution to the UAE’s growing transportation needs.
Etihad Rail plans to introduce passenger services in stages, with Dubai and Al Dhaid stations coming online by September 30, followed by Al Dhafra by December 30, and Sharjah by March 30, 2027, creating a comprehensive rail network connecting key urban and economic centers.
Advanced Facilities for a Seamless Journey
To ensure a smooth and comfortable travel experience, stations along the route are equipped with clear signage, dedicated support staff, and facilities catering to people with disabilities. Ample parking spaces are also provided to accommodate travelers arriving by car.
Onboard amenities are designed to enhance passenger comfort and convenience. Features include free Wi-Fi, charging ports at every seat, foldable tables, overhead storage compartments, and dedicated space for larger luggage, complemented by generous legroom to ensure a pleasant journey.
Enhancing Travel Experience and Connectivity
Etihad Rail emphasizes that the passenger train service offers a more comfortable, reliable, and connected alternative to road travel. Passengers can enjoy guaranteed seating and a tranquil onboard environment, allowing them to make productive use of their travel time whether for work, relaxation, or leisure activities.
The service seeks to redefine passenger expectations by focusing on the quality of the travel experience, enhancing how passengers spend their journey time through improved comfort and connectivity.
