UAE Schools to Observe Holiday from May 25 to 29

The Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates has officially confirmed that students, administrative staff, and teaching personnel will enjoy a mid-term break coinciding with Eid Al Adha from May 25 to May 29. This break, which is part of the approved timetable for the third semester, provides a critical pause before students enter the final assessment phase of the academic year.

A Strategic Pause for Academic Prioritization

The timing of this break is strategic, offering students an opportunity to reassess and realign their academic goals. As the academic year draws to a close, school administrations emphasize the importance of this period for students to prepare for significant upcoming evaluations. The break acts as a mental and academic reset, allowing students to catch their breath before the final push towards end-of-year assessments.

Resumption of Classes and Mock Exams

Following the break, students are scheduled to return to their classrooms on June 1. The academic calendar marks June 15 and 16 as the dates for mock exams, which serve as a crucial checkpoint in evaluating students’ preparedness. These exams are designed to pinpoint areas that need improvement and to offer schools the chance to provide targeted support to students before the final exams.

End-of-Term Exams and Final Assessments

As the academic year progresses, another significant date is June 17, which marks the Islamic New Year holiday. Immediately following this, the end-of-term exams are slated to begin on June 24 and will continue through July 3. This period is critical as it constitutes the core evaluation of students’ academic achievements across various grades.

Concluding the Academic Year

The academic year is set to conclude on July 3, marking the last official school day for students. Subsequently, make-up exams are scheduled from July 6 to 9, offering students the opportunity to pass any subjects they may have struggled with during the initial assessments. These exams are an integral part of ensuring that all students have adequate opportunities to meet academic requirements.

Result Announcements and Training Initiatives

Following the completion of exams, the Ministry plans to release the end-of-year results on July 12 and 13. This early announcement provides students and parents with the necessary information before the re-examination phase, which will occur from July 14 to 17. The results of these re-examinations will be disclosed on July 20 after a thorough analysis and correction process.

Professional Development for Educators

In addition to student assessments, the Ministry has dedicated the period from July 13 to 17 for specialised training programs aimed at enhancing the skills of administrative and educational staff. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of educational staff as the country continues to advance its educational system.

Transition to Summer Break

The academic year will officially close with the release of the retake exam results on July 20. Following this, the summer vacation for administrative and teaching staff will commence on July 18, closing out all formal academic activities for the year and allowing staff to recharge before the onset of the new academic year.
