Dubai Revolutionizes Government Services with 360 Initiative

Dubai Services 360 Initiative

Dubai’s Bold Leap in Government Service Optimization

In a landmark move to enhance governmental efficiency, Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), under the leadership of His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, has redefined service delivery through the innovative Services 360 initiative. This ambitious program has overhauled 18 critical services, dramatically improving both speed and customer satisfaction.

Streamlined Services: A Three-Year Transformation

The transformation spanned three years, targeting seven services in 2023, nine in 2024, and two in 2025. This phased approach enabled a systematic redesign of procedures, significantly reducing complexity and wait times. The initiative has been pivotal in trimming the number of procedural steps from a cumbersome 49 to a streamlined 15, cutting average waiting times from 11 minutes to just one minute, and slashing service delivery times from 69 minutes to a mere four minutes.

Customer-Centric Improvements: Listening and Adapting

Emphasizing the importance of customer involvement, Al Marri explained that soliciting feedback from service users was crucial in identifying obstacles and crafting effective solutions. This participatory approach has been instrumental in achieving a remarkable increase in customer satisfaction, rising from an already impressive 92% to a near-perfect 99%.

Collaboration and Training: Keys to Success

Al Marri highlighted teamwork and cross-entity collaboration as vital components of the initiative’s success. Training was a cornerstone of the process, with 111 employees from federal entities receiving specialized training and 2,618 employees participating in internal courses. These efforts ensured that staff were well-equipped to implement the new streamlined processes efficiently.

Environmental and Operational Impact

Beyond improving service delivery, the Services 360 initiative has had a notable environmental impact. By reducing paperwork and streamlining processes, the initiative preserved over 10,552 trees and cut carbon dioxide emissions by 253,233 kilograms, aligning with Dubai’s sustainability goals.

A Model for Future Government Initiatives

The Services 360 initiative not only exemplifies a commitment to operational excellence but also sets a benchmark for future government projects. Al Marri emphasized that the success of such initiatives lies in their ability to create tangible, positive impacts, a philosophy that guided the project’s development from inception to execution.

The initiative also reduced the number of visits required from nine to a single visit, drastically simplifying the process for customers. The number of procedural requirements was condensed from eight to just one, further enhancing efficiency and convenience.

As Dubai continues to innovate, the Services 360 initiative stands as a testament to the city’s dedication to pioneering effective government services that are both customer-focused and environmentally conscious.
