The United Arab Emirates has unveiled a groundbreaking regulatory framework to safeguard children’s interactions with digital platforms. As part of a comprehensive effort by the government, the Child Digital Safety Council organized a media briefing to detail the Cabinet Decision focusing on children’s access to social media. Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family and Chairperson of the Child Digital Safety Council, spearheaded the meeting held in Dubai.

The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) will oversee the compliance of social media platforms with the new regulations. A 12-month transitional period has been granted to enable platforms to align their systems with these requirements.
