Dubai Summer Surprises 2026

Dubai Hosts 29th Annual Summer Festivities

This summer, the vibrant city of Dubai is set to host the 29th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), running from July 2 to August 30. The event promises over two months of entertainment, family activities, and significant retail promotions under the theme ‘Make it a Dubai Summer’. Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), DSS aims to reinforce Dubai’s status as a top global destination for tourism, shopping, and leisure.

Comprehensive Program of Events

The event is packed with a diverse array of activities that include shopping, entertainment, dining, cultural, and sporting events. Attendees can look forward to thousands of promotional offers, exciting raffles, and enticing prizes such as cars, cash rewards, and scholarships. Additionally, there will be numerous hotel and attraction deals available for both residents and visitors.

Major Shopping Campaigns to Watch

DSS will launch two major shopping campaigns this year. The Great Dubai Summer Sale will run from July 2 to August 2 and will offer discounts of up to 90 percent across a wide range of brands. Following this, the Back-to-School season from August 3 to 30 will feature special offers on school supplies, clothing, and electronics, alongside family-friendly entertainment and interactive experiences.

Entertainment and Cultural Highlights

One of the festival’s main attractions is the four-day opening event from July 2 to July 5, featuring concerts and free live performances across several shopping malls. Well-known artists will perform alongside theatrical productions and family-friendly entertainment suitable for all ages.

The festival’s mascots, Modesh and Dana, will make special appearances at shopping malls, schools, and entertainment venues. Modesh World, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from July 3 to August 23, will feature family attractions, play zones, workshops, and live performances. The Modesh Scholarship programme will award 10 scholarships worth AED20,000 each.

New Initiatives and Exciting Offers

This year’s DSS introduces several new initiatives, including the Back-to-School Carnival on August 7 and 8 and the LEGO FIFA interactive experience at City Walk. Shoppers can also participate in the ‘Dine, Shop and Win’ campaigns, with major raffles offering luxury cars and cash prizes at participating malls.

The food sector is not left out, with Dubai Summer Restaurant Week returning from July 13 to August 2, and the popular ’10 Dirham Dish’ promotion running from August 3 to 30, offering selected dishes at participating restaurants for just AED10.

Concerts and Performances

Music lovers have much to look forward to, with a series of concerts and live performances lined up. The Beat the Heat music festival will feature various Arab artists throughout July and August. Notably, Kuwait’s Miami Band will perform at the Coca-Cola Arena on August 29. Additional performances include Candlelight concerts and various interactive experiences at Dubai’s leading shopping destinations.

Lodging, Leisure, and Community Events

The festival continues to offer numerous shopping campaigns and prize draws, including the ‘Win Your Home in Dubai’ campaign, alongside raffles for luxury cars and cash prizes. Daily promotions and discounts on gold, electronics, fashion, beauty products, and furniture will also be available.

This year’s edition includes hundreds of offers at hotels, resorts, and tourist attractions, with around 100 staycation and leisure packages available to suit various budgets. Coinciding with the UAE’s Year of the Family, the DSS will also feature sporting and community events such as the Dubai Mallathon, indoor running events, and football-inspired experiences, creating a comprehensive summer season of shopping, entertainment, sports, and hospitality.
